Stirling provides the
most modern facilities for ministerial and theological education
in Australia. The teaching and administration
centre is built around a landscaped courtyard. It comprises a well-equipped
lecture theatre seating 131 people; three lecture rooms; six tutorial
rooms, including one especially designed for training in counselling;
a community lounge, dining room and kitchen; offices and a spacious
library.
Through use of the library, students can draw upon the thoughts
and practical experience of hundreds of Christian thinkers and church
leaders throughout the world and they can develop an ability to
work through ideas and issues in ways that will continue for years
to come. About 23,000 books and 100 current periodicals make up
the College's basic collection. Books, pamphlets and journals relating
to Churches of Christ are housed in the Historical Library. Stirling
students also have access to the library at Whitley College, and, by arrangement,
many other libraries associated with the Melbourne College of Divinity.
