The Campbell Edwards Library, the library of the Stirling Theological College, provides resources for theological study and research, for students of the College, for persons in ministry in the Churches of Christ, and for other interested persons. The collection includes:

  • books (30,000 volumes)
  • journals (35 current subscriptions)
  • online databases

The strength of the collection is in the area of biblical studies, theology, pastoral theology and practical ministry.

Opening hours

During semester:
Mondays 9.00am to 6.00pm
Tuesdays to Thursdays 9.00am to 9.30pm
Fridays 9.00am to 5.30pm
Saturdays 1.00pm to 5.00pm

Between semesters one and two:
Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri : 9.30am - 5.30pm
Wed : 9.30am - 9.30pm
Sat : 1.00pm - 5.00pm

Membership
Borrowing privileges are available to
  • All faculty, staff and students of Stirling Theological College.
  • All students enrolled with the Melbourne College of Divinty and its other RTIs, including postgraduate and research students.
  • Students from other (non-MCD) theological colleges enrolled in a single unit at Stirling, for the duration of that unit.
  • Past students of the College, people in fulltime ministry, and members of the Churches of Christ community for a nominal fee of $77.00 per year ($19.00 per quarter).
  • The general public, including theological students of all other (non-MCD) institutions, are welcome to use the Library, but for borrowing privileges a fee ($110.00 per year) is payable.

Collections

The Reference collection includes dictionaries, encyclopediae, atlases, bibliographies and indexes to periodicals.

The collection holds materials required to support college study units, both core materials and supplementary texts. The main subject areas covered are Bible, theology, early and Reformation church history, and pastoral ministry.

A substantial collection of denominational resource material is to be found in the General collection. Historical denominational resources are housed in the Churches of Christ Historical Library. Limited access to this material is available by arrangement with the Librarian.
