students.
Fee Help is the name
of the Commonwealth Government education loan scheme. It is a loan
given to eligible students to help pay part or all of their tuition
fees. A FEE-HELP loan can cover all or part of your tuition fees.
Students who are Australian citizens or holders of a
permanent humanitarian visa are eligible. Under FEE-HELP, you can
borrow up to a maximum of $89,706 (2012 - indexed each year) over
your lifetime.
Here are some other
important features of FEE-HELP:
- A loan fee of 25%
applies to FEE-HELP loans for undergraduate courses of
study.
- The Commonwealth
pays the amount of the loan directly to the student's
provider.
- Students repay their
loan through the tax system once their income is above the minimum
threshold (in 2012 - $47,196.00 pa indexed).
Information booklets
and application forms for FEE-HELP are available from the College
Registrar or you can download an information booklet on Fee-Help
