are two ways that the Masters of Arts (research) can be undertaken. - Two
semester units at 4th Level after completing the Graduate Diploma in Theology
and then complete a 25,000 word thesis.
- A
40,000 word thesis after completing the Graduate Diploma in Theology.
Entry
Requirements: Bachelor of Theology with Honours (H1 or H2A) or a Graduate Diploma
in Theology that included a 12,000 word research essay at distinction standard
or two undergraduate degrees (one of which is in theology), and a 12,000 word
research essay at distinction standard or Master of Ministry or equivalent qualifications
(e.g., publications) .Accepted candidates with a prior degree in theology may
undertake the MA as a specialised degree with all units being elected in consultation
with the Postgraduate Board of Studies.
Master of Theology [MTheol]

MTheol can be taken by coursework or research in the same modes as mentioned above
for the MA. Entry requirements are also the same.
Doctor of Theology [DTheol]

The
DTheol degree is examined by research thesis of not more than 100,000 words under
a supervisor attached to a teaching college of MCD. Pre-requisites: A previously
held TheolM; OR A TheolM candidacy of no less than two (2) semesters for full-time
candidates or (4) semesters for part-time candidates. DTheol applicants must
submit a research proposal with bibliography, in a form and length determined
by the Post-graduate Board and supported by an Adviser approved by the Board.

Doctor of Philosophy
[PhD]

The
PhD is designed to enable approved candidates to interact with the discipline
of theology by building on studies undertaken in their previous degree, usually
in other disciplines. The entry level is a master's degree in a discipline which
is considered by the Board to be the foundation for work which engages with a
theological discipline at doctoral level. The degree is examined by research thesis
of not more than 100,000 words under a supervisor attached to a teaching college of MCD. Details of admission standards and regulations governing
